I had eaten there about a week ago just to check it out. I liked everything I tried, so last night my husband and I tried the 7 course blind tasting menu for dinner. We thought it would be an adventure, but not without possible drawbacks. It turned out to be wonderful, with every course carefully thought out and everything delicious.If you like to know ahead of time everything you're going to eat though, they also have an excellent menu. The duck breast was superb and thr gazpacho was outstanding.Will be happy to be back soon..
Stopped by on a Thursday night for a quick dinner. Dinning room was busy but comfortable with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Escargot was exceptional and both mains were excellent(trout/pasta). Much needed and welcomed addition to Carleton Place.
This restaurant is tops. I think everytime we go the food gets better. I had the lamb , my wife had the duck and our two guests each had the steak frites. -All of the dishes were excellent
My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful 4 course blind meal on Saturday evening. It was our first time to at the Black Tartan. We enjoyed the wine pairing along with each course, that was carefully explained to us. The atmosphere was intimate and personal. The chef came over during the , meal to each table to introduce himself and made sure we where happy with the meal. Can't wait to enjoy their restaurant again.
Dinner and service were great. Went there last minute and don't regret the choice. There was a Thursday night date night special. I had the steak frites and my wife had the rainbow trout.Both were delicious. Thank you Michelle and Ian for a memorable birthday dinner for my wife.
